Testimonials

Sarah Lee teaches singing in my music department at Shrewsbury High School and specialises in a wide range of musical genres from musical theatre to classical styles. She is a wonderfully warm and supportive teacher and I have seen pupils develop rapidly in their confidence, technique and ability since starting their lessons with her. This is due in no small part to Sarah's inventive teaching techniques, which has the pupils stretching, laughing and giggling at themselves. I see her consistently go above and beyond for her pupils. As a Director of Music, it is so reassuring to have such a wonderful teacher supporting my pupils outside of their regular curriculum lessons and choir rehearsals, particularly those pupils taking GCSE and A Levels who need to prepare for demanding grade exams and performance exams within school. I cannot recommend Sarah more highly.

I really enjoy my singing lessons with Sarah. She is friendly, encouraging and effective. My singing and confidence in singing is much improved. She has taught me many things including breath support, tone of voice and how to sing in different styles. My lessons are time just for myself to do something I love. Thank you Sarah.

Sarah is a fantastic teacher! Throughout the two years I've had her tutoring me I have gone from a strictly ensemble singer to a confident soloist. She is delightfully easy going, allowing me to cater the lessons to what I want to work on but always pushing me to attain my best in everything. Not to mention, she is hilarious! There is never a dull moment! For a young person who is terrified by the thought of eventually having to take the plunge into the performing arts industry Sarah's guidance has helped me ease that fear, with a singing voice in tow.

Going from generic singing teachers to Sarah was one of the best things that could have happened to my singing career. Starting out I was very shy and had little to no confidence in myself. Through Sarah's help, not only did I gain a distinction in Grade 8 Singing with ABRSM, I also developed and grew not only as a singer but also as a person. Sarah's approach to her lessons was something completely new for me. With fun and varied vocal exercises I was able to be silly and completely comfortable around her, learning to overcome the embarrassment I often felt with other teachers. She also helped me 'find my voice' in terms of repertoire and fully understanding my type of voice. I wasn't just learning piece after piece to pass an exam, I was also improving on technique, something which has immensley benefited me particularly at the higher grades. Unfortunately I wasn't able to continue my lessons with Sarah as I moved away. However, I am now going to study a Music and French Degree, heavily focused on performance, at Bristol University. This must be credited to Sarah as through her teaching, I managed to gain almost full marks in the performance aspect of my Music A Level. Sarah is an outstanding vocal coach and I will be forever grateful to her for helping me to get to where I am today.

I had the pleasure of working with Sarah over 4 years whilst I was Director of Music at Bedstone College and in that time she was an incredible asset to the Music Department and the wider College Community. Sarah was able to enthuse students and through her thoughtful, supportive and engaging lessons she raised the standard of the College vocalists to an exceptional level. The Music Department was able to grow the amount of vocalists from 2 students to needing a waiting list to manage the demand for places. Sarah's commitment to her students learning and development is reflected in her own pursuit of pedagogical innovations which she then brings to each lesson. I would fully recommend Sarah to anyone interested in receiving first class vocal tuition.

I used to sing a lot as a child, but I lost all confidence in my teens and for decades did no more than occasionally (and when alone) singing along with the radio.

I missed singing and in my sixties i decided to try again. I was lucky to find Sarah, She is a very good teacher; patient, imaginative and encouraging. And my lessons are a lot of fun too!

Sarah was recommended to me by my music teacher. Being primarily a pianist I was nervous at first, but Sarah quickly picked up on my strengths and worked on my weaknesses and tailored the lessons around those. She taught me to sing songs that at one time I would have believed were out of my capabilities, but she gave me the confidence to achieve so much. She taught me skills that have been transferable in my studies today at music collage, in both solo and group work.

For me, Sarah's teaching style worked perfectly as she had an ideal balance between being relaxed and approachable yet highly professional at all times. She was constantly pushing me to reach my maximum potential. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Sarah as a vocal coach and I hope to work with her again one day soon.

I have been taught by Sarah for around five years, and my confidence has grown so much in this time. When I started, I would sing for enjoyment and as part of a choir, but never had any intention of singing solo or completing any singing exams. Sarah's approach to teaching and her friendly attitude made so much difference and she helped build my confidence to the stage that I have completed multiple exams up to Grade Five Singing. In Sarah's lessons, the learning was always fun and tailored to use my strengths to assist with the areas I found more challenging.

I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for a friendly and personal approach to singing tuition.

Studying singing with Sarah has been an unparalleled pleasure and joy. Taught with such professionalism and friendliness, I was able to learn and develop my voice as well as my confidence. I was soon able to achieve my Grade 8 with a Distinction with Trinity Board under Sarah's tutelage. Sarah's open and positive approach to teaching allowed me to not only be comfortable enough that I wasn't afraid of mistakes but comfortable enough, with the help of the wonderfully fun and refreshing vocal exercises, to be silly! There was not a time I didn't look forward to the weekly lessons and Sarah's fun approach and friendly, warm company let me fall in love with singing even more every week. Unfortunately, I am unable to continue with Sarah as I am moving away to pursue further education at university in a degree in music. My confidence to pursue this degree and the further development of my voice must be credited to Sarah's expertise in her teaching and for this I will be forever grateful.
